Lumoview Building Analytics schließt Finanzierungsrunde ab

 Die Lumoview Building Analytics GmbH hat heute den Abschluss einer Frühphasen-Finanzierungsrunde bekannt gegeben. Das 2019 gegründete Kölner Unternehmen will damit seine Lösung zur sehr schnellen Erfassung und Analyse von Bestandsgebäuden weiter automatisieren. Zu diesem Zweck soll vor allem das Produktentwicklungsteam weiter verstärkt werden. Für 2020 plant Lumoview neben der technischen Weiterentwicklung auch die Gewinnung weiterer Kunden, vor allem aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum, sowie den Aufbau von Vertriebsstrukturen und Partnerschaften.

An der Finanzierungsrunde beteiligten sich neben der Hoffschmidt Ventures GmbH als Mitgründer die Familie Schneider, die über mehrere Generationen Erfahrung in der Baubranche verfügt, sowie die NRW.BANK.

Das Kölner Startup wurde 2019 von Bernhard Hoffschmidt, Arne Tiddens und Silvan Siegrist gegründet und beschäftigt 7 Mitarbeiter. Es ist ein Spin-off und Kooperationspartner des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt e. V. (DLR). Lumoview ermöglicht die sekundengenaue Erfassung und automatisierte Messung und Analyse von Innenräumen in Gebäuden. Dazu hat Lumoview ein einfach zu bedienendes und tragbares 360°-Innenraum-Messsystem entwickelt. Die Messung dauert nur 2 Sekunden pro Raum und kann auch von Nichtfachleuten durchgeführt werden. Die Messdaten umfassen Bilder im sichtbaren und infraroten Spektrum, Luftparameter, Entfernungen und Position. Diese Daten werden in der Cloud mit maschinellen Lernalgorithmen automatisch ausgewertet und direkt in digitale Prozesse wie CAD, CAFM oder BIM integriert. Das macht es einfach, Gebäude ökonomisch und ökologisch zu optimieren. Lumoview wurde bisher von DLR, Fraunhofer Days, Climate-KIC und Helmholtz Enterprise gefördert und ist Preisträger des digitalBAU Startup Award 2020.

 Das Investment- und Beratungsunternehmen wurde 2016 von den Partnern Bernhard Hoffschmidt und Paul-Lukas Hoffschmidt in Bergisch Gladbach gegründet. Neben den beiden Gesellschaftern besteht das Team aus 5 Wirtschafts- und Technik-Experten. Der Schwerpunkt der Aktivitäten liegt in den Bereichen Company Building, Angel Investing und Consulting. Ziel ist es, innovative Hightech-Unternehmen aufzubauen und zu entwickeln. Neben der Lumoview Building Analytics GmbH wurden bisher auch die Heliokon GmbH und die Enerfinity GmbH unterstützt. Ein enger Kooperationspartner ist das Deutsche Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR).

Lumoview Building Analytics closes financing round

 Lumoview Building Analytics GmbH today announced the closing of an early-stage financing round. The Cologne-based company, which was founded in 2019, intends to use this to further automate its solution for the very fast recording and analysis of existing buildings. To this end, predominantly the product development team will be further strengthened. For 2020, Lumoview also plans, in addition to further technical development, to acquire additional customers, primarily from German-speaking countries, as well as to establish sales structures and partnerships.

The investors involved in this financing round were, in addition to Hoffschmidt Ventures GmbH as co-founder, the Schneider family with several generations of experience in the construction industry and NRW.BANK.

The Cologne-based startup was founded in 2019 by Bernhard Hoffschmidt, Arne Tiddens and Silvan Siegrist and employs 7 people. It is a spin-off and cooperation partner of the German Aerospace Center e. V. (DLR). Lumoview enables split-second recording and automated measurement and analysis of indoor spaces in buildings. For this purpose, Lumoview has developed an easy-to-use and portable 360° indoor measurement system. The measurement takes only 2 seconds per room and can be carried out even by non-experts. The measurement data includes images in the visible and infrared spectrum, air parameters, distances and position. This data is automatically analyzed in the cloud with machine learning algorithms and directly integrated into digital processes such as CAD, CAFM or BIM. This makes it easy to optimize buildings economically and ecologically. Lumoview has so far been supported by DLR, Fraunhofer Days, Climate-KIC and Helmholtz Enterprise and is a laureate of the digitalBAU Startup Award 2020.

Der Horst-Rauck-Gründerpreis wird von der Gesellschaft der Freunde des DLR vergeben und zeichnet vielversprechende Start-ups aus dem DLR aus.

Die Beheizung von Gebäuden ist für rund ein Drittel der CO2-Emissionen in Deutschland verantwortlich. Die energetische Sanierung von Gebäuden, zum Beispiel durch bessere Dämmung, kann einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur Einsparung von Kohlendioxid leisten. Um Sanierungsmaßnahmen besser planen und durchführen zu können, haben Wissenschaftler des Instituts für Solarforschung des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) ein Messsystem entwickelt, mit dem sich Gebäude vermessen und Schwachstellen in der Wärmedämmung aufspüren lassen - schnell, einfach und kostengünstig. Das innovative Messsystem ist auch das technologische Herzstück des aus dem DLR heraus gegründeten Unternehmens.

Hinter dem im Februar 2019 gestarteten Unternehmen mit Hauptsitz in Köln stehen die Gründer und DLR-Mitarbeiter Dr. Silvan Siegrist Silvan Siegrist, Dr. Arne Tiddens und Prof. Bernhard Hoffschmidt. Mit einem kleinen Team von derzeit sieben Personen entwickelt und vermarktet das Gründertrio das von ihnen erfundene Messsystem und bietet Messsysteme und Gebäudemessung und Energie als Dienstleistung an. Die Kunden müssen das Gerät nicht kaufen, sondern zahlen eine Servicegebühr.

Lumoview: Preisträger des Horst-Rauck-Gründerpreises

Innovatives Denken, unternehmerisches Handeln und Risikobereitschaft bei der Vermarktung neuer Geschäftsideen zahlen sich aus, wie die Auszeichnung des Horst Rauck mit dem Horst Rauck Gründerpreis zeigt. Das Gründertrio erhielt den mit 3.000 Euro dotierten Preis der Gesellschaft der Freunde des DLR am 30. Januar 2020 im Rahmen des Neujahrsempfangs des DLR in Berlin. Der Preis wurde zum zweiten Mal verliehen und erinnert an den verstorbenen ehemaligen Vorsitzenden der Gesellschaft der Freunde des DLR Horst Rauck.

Erfolgsfaktoren: einfache Handhabung und schnelle Ergebnisse

Die Messtechnik von Lumoview wurde im Rahmen eines von der Bundesregierung geförderten Innovationsprojekts entwickelt. Das Messsystem besteht unter anderem aus einer sphärischen Panoramakamera und einem neu entwickelten und zum Patent angemeldeten 360-Grad-Infrarot-Kamerasystem. Eine Software erstellt zwei- und dreidimensionale Modelle des Gebäudes und kombiniert die Bilder aus dem sichtbaren und dem Infrarotspektrum zu einer einzigen Ansicht. So erhält der Nutzer ein Panoramabild des Gebäudes mit einer Darstellung seiner thermischen Eigenschaften. Diese Bilder können zum Beispiel zur Berechnung der Wandtemperatur und der Wandfeuchtigkeit verwendet werden. Das Lumoview-System ist im Vergleich zu den bisher verwendeten Methoden besonders schnell, einfach und ohne Schulung zu bedienen und liefert innerhalb weniger Minuten Ergebnisse. Die Nutzer sehen auf einen Blick, wo Außenwände am meisten Wärme verlieren oder ob es feuchte Stellen an den Wänden gibt. Die Auswertungen werden über eine cloudbasierte Software durchgeführt.

The heating of buildings is responsible for around one third of the CO2 emissions in Germany. The energetic renovation of buildings, for example through better insulation, can make a decisive contribution to saving carbon dioxide, carbon dioxide. Lumoview: Winner of the Horst Rauck Founder Award

Innovative thinking, entrepreneurial action and a willingness to take risks in the marketing of new business ideas pays off, as shown by the award of the Horst Rauck with the Horst Rauck Founder's Award. The trio of founders received the €3,000 prize awarded by the Society of Friends of the Friends of DLR on January 30, 2020, at DLR's New Year's reception in Berlin. The award was presented for the second time and commemorates the late former chairman of the Society of Friends of DLR Horst Rauck.

Success factors: easy handling and fast results

The measurement technology behind Lumoview was developed as part of an innovation project funded by the German government. Among other things, the measurement system consists of a spherical panorama camera and a newly developed 360-degree infrared camera system for which a patent application has been filed. Software generates two- and three-dimensional models of the building and combines the images from the visible and infrared spectra into a single view. This gives users a panoramic image of the building with a representation of its thermal properties. These images can be used, for example, to calculate wall temperature and wall humidity. Compared to previously used methods, the Lumoview system can be used particularly quickly, easily and without training and delivers results within a few minutes. Users can see at a glance where exterior walls lose the most heat or whether there are damp spots on the walls. The evaluations are carried out by cloud-based software.

 Gestern, am 11. Mai. 2021, fand das Bau-Startup-Forum Rheinland zum ersten Mal in Köln statt. Neben einer spannenden Podiumsdiskussion zum Thema Zusammenarbeit mit Startups fanden auch Tandempräsentationen zwischen etablierten Unternehmen und Startups statt. Als eines der vier ausgewählten Praxisbeispiele einer solchen Kooperation durfte die Lumoview Building Analytics GmbH in Kooperation mit dem Gebäudemanagement der Stadt Köln über das gemeinsame Pilotprojekt der 3D-Modellierung einer Kölner Berufsschule sprechen.

Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung wurde auch der ABE_Award 2020 des Netzwerks Aachen Building Experts e. V. verliehen. Die beiden nominierten Finalisten, Lumoview und wirbauen.digital, hatten sich zuvor in einer Vorauswahl gegen Mitbewerber aus der Bau- und Immobilienwirtschaft durchgesetzt und hatten die Möglichkeit, sich in einem kurzen Pitch live im E-Werk zu präsentieren. Lumoview konnte das Publikumsvoting für sich entscheiden.

 Yesterday, May 11. 2021, the Bau-Startup-Forum Rheinland was held for the first time in Cologne. In addition to an exciting panel discussion on the topic of collaboration with startups, tandem presentations between established companies and startups also took place.  As one of the four selected practical examples of such cooperation, Lumoview Building Analytics GmbH, in cooperation with the building management of the city of Cologne, was allowed to speak about the joint pilot project of 3D modeling of a Cologne vocational school.

During the event, the ABE_Award 2020 of the network Aachen Building Experts e. V. was also presented. Both nominated finalists, Lumoview and wirbauen.digital, had previously prevailed in a pre-selection process against competitors from the construction and real estate industry and had the opportunity to present themselves live in the E-Werk in a short pitch. Lumoview was able to win the audience vote.
